If you’ve been living with multiple missing teeth, or you have visited us and we advised extracting teeth in the interests of your oral health, an implant supported bridge is a viable option for restoring your mouth and smile.

Implant supported bridges use implants to secure a custom-made bridge in place when there are more than 3 missing teeth. Once 2 or more implants are placed, and the bridge is secured in place over the top, providing the stability, function and aesthetic your smile needs, your teeth and your bite are restored.

Multiple lost teeth can also disturb your facial structure, so when you replace missing teeth with an implant supported bridge, you’re also restoring volume and reversing hollow areas of the face affected by tooth loss.

Procedure

Step 1

Examination

an in-depth examination of your mouth is performed, so we can establish a picture of your oral and dental health. We will take X-rays, digital photos, impressions (moulds) and measurements and use this diagnostic information to plan your unique implant journey.

Step 2

Surgery

under local anaesthetic, we will carefully place the implants into the jawbone, after which it will be left to heal for 3 months. You’ll be provided with a temporary bridge, so that you don’t endure the healing period without teeth. Meanwhile, we will create a permanent bridge that will replace the temporary one, once the jaw has healed.

During the healing period, the jawbone grows around the implants, accepting them as a new entity that forms part of the body.

Step 3

Permanent bridge

once healed, you’re ready to receive your permanent bridge, which will be fitted, and adjusted if necessary. And that’s it! You’re ready to take on the world, with your new smile.

An innovative approach to placing implants at Complex Smile

To deliver the best possible experience for patients, we’ve invested in an intraoral scanner Medit i700, which takes digital impressions of your teeth, rather than manual (and very often unpleasant!) impressions of your teeth. This technology takes a simple scan and is completely non-invasive, not the sticky mass that’s used when a traditional impression is taken.

Using state-of-the-art R2Gate Digital Dentistry software, we’re able to carefully plan your surgery in advance. By creating and fixing a special custom-made guide, we’re able to see exactly where to place your implant for the most successful outcome.

Not only does this help patients to feel relaxed about their treatment, in many cases we don’t need to perform any incisions or stitches. Meanwhile, the traditional method of placing implants would involve an incision, heightening the risk of complications and making the whole process more invasive for patients. Once completed, patients won’t need to come in for a follow up appointment, as there’s no need for the removal of sutures.

As very few practices offer this level of technology in the UK, we’re extremely proud to be able to offer this to patients.

Amazing dental clinic starting from receptionist and finishing with Dr. Karolina Kraujelytė, she’s done amazing job literally saving the tooth which likely needed to be extracted, can’t thank enough. I came at complex smile for just one implant after checking 3 different clinics.. I had an absolutely great experience. I have chosen Complex smile because the specialist goes straight to the point, no one in the clinic is wasting their time about trying to sell you treatment you didn't come for. Even when I had an emergency 2 days before Christmas the specialist did everything to see me at the clinic despite he was on holidays. I live now on the other side of the city but I will keep them for my regular hygiene check. Thank you so much for everything, I can finally now eat normally !
