Surgery day is a significantly transformative day for many patients. It’s always a pleasure to have the capacity to deliver a fixed full mouth reconstruction for our patients, on the same day they walked in for treatment.
We understand the word ‘surgery’ can be an anxiety-inducing one. Rest assured, you’re in caring and capable hands with our surgeons at Complex Smile.
Knowing what to expect can help to put your mind at ease, before you set off on the journey to a new smile.
One of the great benefits of choosing Complex Smile for dental implants treatment is that patients are only required to come in to see us a total of 3 times:
- Consultation.
- Surgery.
- 1 year after surgery.
This makes it a particularly appealing ideal implants treatment for patients living outside of London, who might otherwise be put off travelling into the city for countless appointments. At Complex Smile, we believe getting a new smile should be simple, streamlined and satisfying.
Sedation – your options
As a supportive team of professionals, we’re always looking to make our patients feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. We offer sedation for patients who may find they need a helping hand to feel confident with going ahead with their surgery. These types of sedation are:
Oral sedation: this involves take a medication dissolved in water. We’re also able to use local anaesthetic in conjunction with oral sedation.
Intravenous sedation (IV): this is administered via a needle (cannula) on the back of the hand and like oral sedation, it’s in addition to local anaesthetic. All sedation at Complex Smile is performed by an experienced seditionist, who will closely monitor you throughout the procedure.
It’s not uncommon for patients to feel much more positive about their dental appointments in the future, once they’ve had a procedure performed under sedation. Its relaxing and amnesic effects are powerful and very beneficial to patients who struggle with extreme dental phobia. Under sedation, you’ll still be able to communicate with your surgeon.
Here for you, every step of the way
We understand surgery day is a big day. At each stage of your surgery day journey, you’ll be looked after by professionals who truly care about your future wellbeing. We can’t wait to support you on your path to better teeth, increased confidence, and the improved quality of life you deserve.
